O Murena, sucessor do Bagheera, é o expoente máximo dessa filosofia. A Nossa História com Este Carro
Há coisas que não se explicam, sentem-se, e a minha ligação ao Murena é uma delas. Tive a sorte de comprar um novo em 1982 e com ele fiz uma das melhores viagens da minha vida: subir do Algarve a Lisboa pela antiga estrada nacional, a serpentear pela serra. Era o território perfeito para sentir este carro.
Infelizmente, vendi-o há uns dez anos e arrependi-me quase de imediato. Fiquei sempre com aquela "comichão" de voltar a ter aquela sensação de condução de um kart, ágil e comunicativo. Há dois anos, encontrei este exemplar e não hesitei. É um desportivo com pedigree, chassis à prova de ferrugem e, claro, os famosos 3 lugares. Como costumávamos brincar na altura, é ideal para levar duas namoradas a passear! O motor 1.6 é robusto e perfeito para o chassis leve, permitindo explorar os limites sem sustos. É um carro para ser sentido.

Matra was not an ordinary car manufacturer. With roots in aviation and a history of victories in Formula 1 and Le Mans, their approach was unique. The Murena, successor to the Bagheera, is the pinnacle of that philosophy. It features two remarkable innovations: the iconic three-abreast seating configuration and, more importantly, it was the world's first production car to have a fully hot-dip galvanized steel chassis, making it extraordinarily resistant to rust, the "Achilles' heel" of so many sports cars of the era. With a mid-engine layout and a wedge design, it is a truly special 1980s classic.
Our Story with This Car
Some things aren't explained, they are felt, and my connection to the Murena is one of them. I was lucky enough to buy one new in 1982 and with it, I took one of the best trips of my life: driving up from the Algarve to Lisbon on the old national road, winding through the mountains. It was the perfect territory to feel this car.
Unfortunately, I sold it about ten years ago and regretted it almost immediately. I always had that "itch" to get that go-kart-like, agile, and communicative driving feel back. Two years ago, I found this example and didn't hesitate. It's a sports car with pedigree, a rust-proof chassis, and of course, the famous 3 seats. As we used to joke back in the day, it's ideal for taking two girlfriends for a ride! The 1.6 engine is robust and perfect for the lightweight chassis, allowing you to explore the limits without any scares. It's a car to be felt.
